Happy Easter

Filed under: bits and pieces — paulahewitt @ 6:23 am

These are our cheapskate/ green Easter baskets. We use any container we can find, and add leaves and flowers from the garden. After the Rabbit lays his eggs in the basket (can you imagine a more confused gender/biological situation?) the containers get recycled and the plants get composted. Easy and cheap. Only Moo believes that a giant rabbit delivers/lays eggs, the boys are sceptical to say the least, but I told them that, they can believe what they want, but if they disabuse Moo of the notion of the Easter Bunny, there will be no eggs for them.

Needless to say the boys managed to find 95% of the hidden eggs while Moo was still bouncing up and down. They are now eating themselves into a chocolate induced stupor while I have a coffee and contemplate breakfast.

Have a great Easter.

  3. Hi Paula,
Your kids are beautiful….love the chocolate stupor…that’s me when I eat too much sugar. However my son just gets even more bouncy. Hope your day was good, and the baskets are lovely, what a nice way to teach your kids about the art of recycling. Let’s see if my son sleeps tonight, he is SO excited about the Easter Bunny bringing gifts….

  4. I hope your day was lovely. This year is the first year I missed giving my kids Easter eggs since they first sprouted teeth , so I’m pleased to see your kids with their stash.Mind you, we made them hunt eggs in the garden last year when they were 23 and 21 respectively!! And they still needed clues.
