Deep Breaths

Nothing gladdens a mother’s heart more than being woken at 2 am to a child sitting in a pool of vomit on top of the first, hand stitched, quilt she ever made. This is the spot where I stop to take deep breaths to calm myself been every load of washing I am hanging on the clothesline …..one quilt, one doona (duvet), one doona cover, three pillows, one set of sheets, two large teddy bears, one pair pjs, assorted smaller stuffed toys…….
Deep breaths………

I sympathise - I recall my daughter when she was aged about four coming to my bedside in the middle of the night to tell me she was feeling ill - and doing the same all over me, the bedding and the carpet below! Lovely photo of the morning (?)sun.

Aaawhhh… I feel sorry for all of you! Hopefully the “bug” will confine itself to 1 child and 1 batch of bedding… more memorial nostalgia for your first finished quilt as well… I’m with ya.. just breathe!

Hi!
I’ve so enjoyed your recent posts! Thank you so much for your humor, fine images, and thoughts that run from history to child rearing.

PS When selecting a piece to give away for my blog’s second anniversary, I considered the cost of shipping it to a faraway country. I didn’t do anything for the first anniversary…so I figured…why not!

Poor baby! Oh-and the child. That’s one thing you don’t miss about them when they leave : )

Oh, no! I’ve heard that vomit on piano keys is the absolute worst, but a handmade quilt ranks high. You also want to avoid it on the inside of a tent during a family camping trip.
